P&H is so d*mn powerful that you should beat the stuffings (assuming your team isn't retarded) out of the majority of mesmers/necros/water eles in RA....

Cure Hex, Remove Hex, Spotless are all great, but with all the ridiculously powerful hexes out there it usually isn't enough.

Honestly, I would have expected that BA/Melandru Turret rangers would be a huge problem too...

I disagree. Blind and Dazed are hard to identify from a distance, so while knowing the animations for conditions can hardly be detrimental, it's not the best way of removing conditions. It's a lot easier when the Warrior or Elementalist or whatever calls the condition for you to remove it. Another thing to do is to recognize the skill animations. Blinding Flash, Blinding Surge, Enervating Charge, Blurred Vision, Insidious Parasite, etc. all have extremely recognizable animations. For the not-so-clear skills like Faintheartedness and Throw Dirt you'll simply have to pay more attention.

As for your bar, I run the exact same bar in RA except with Protective Spirit instead of Cure Hex. The pure red-bar ability is undoubtedly worse than WoH Monks, and you lose access to good Healing Prayers skills like Signet of Rejuvination and Patient Spirit. In return, you get 14-spec Protection Prayer spells (Dismiss Condition, Guardian) as well as more Divine Favour. There's not much more you can do to red-bar if you're running ZB unfortunately. Best I can suggest is to 40/40 ZB whenever possible, and if you lose because of red bar to take some solace that your teammates have to do their part and avoid damage as much as possible, too - after all, 14-spec Protection Prayers does make you a lot better at protting compared to WoH bars.

PS: Dismiss Condition can be used as a heal if ZB is cooling down and / or if you've lost ZB to DShot, Diversion, etc. It's not very effective, but it's better than nothing. The same can be said for RoF. RoF won't push red bars up, but it will stop them from going down.
PPS: Just remembered this. You could try dropping Divine Favour and speccing a little in Healing Prayers (8), then bring Gift of Health.

They are to prevent red bars from going down not up.I much prefer the Mo/Mes booner with mantra of recall or e-drain.

Well I am a pve monk that needs some factions to unlock some of the elite skills so that I can just buy my skills title.

So here goes. I ran my basic WoH build with spike health and HB. My problem was that most of the time I was the only monk.

One of my runs we went up against 4 Asses. Guess who they targeted first? The monk... well it seems like I died in a BIG BLACK CLOUD of something or other. Once second they were over there and then next the only way I could tell I was dead was from the 0 health cause I could not see myself dead on the ground.

So, um keeping the others alive in AB seems to be a HUGE JOKE. It is the MONK that must live or not in my case.

So I brought SPELL BREAKER ELITE and protective spirit and my team was like WHO HAS SPEAL BREAKER??? I was like well me???

They were like you idiot. So we played and won 6 games in a row cause you know.. I was ALIVE to heal them????

This lead me to think... if it is a RANDOM Battle and I bring my 55 monk build would that be like I am an Assassin. I set this sucker to have health regeneration from Healing breeze at 8 - the Necro Blood for health at +3 and the enchant at +4 giving me 15 blips of health degen and I use the plague touch on the buggers.

This gives me MORE than enough regen to live and even knock them down with my elite Shield of Judgment allowing the rest of the team to mow down on them.

This works well....until...my enchants are removed...

How about you

A. Preprot (As you said they predictably always go for you)
B. Bring some defensive skills (Return,Shield Bash etc)

OK, just about anyone will die against 4 sins sooner or later. Did you even consider that if you were to walk out of it easily, that monks would essentially be unkillable?

Spellbreaker sucks, 55 sucks. You may survive, but you are making it difficult on your team. If you're dying alot, I suggest these things:

1. Stop staring at red bars and learn to pre-prot
2. Start with getting a 40/40, spear+shield for defense and +hp, low energy set, 20% longer enchant set. There are other weapon combos that you need to know.
3. learn animations. Look at the field, not the interface.
4. Be aware of your surroundings and your position.
5. If a member wants to Leeroy, screw him and focus on the remaining members who have a higher IQ than cheese.

This is much easier than it looks, it just takes time and practice. I suggest Mo/A for return/dark escape or Mo/W for stances/shield bash.

no offense but people like you are everything that's wrong with RA. PvErs who come into PvP and think it's exactly the same.

now dont get me wrong, I also do both PvE and PvP(nothing fancy, mostly RA) but I do play differently cause these are 2 entirely different environments.

so instead of trying PvE crap like 55 monking and [spell breaker] I mean come on... get a standard bar, even a PvE bar if you dont know any better, and learn how it works. than start working on your monking skills like stop staring at red bars but watching the field instead, recognizing important skill animations, etc. than create your own bars and play them properly.

1 last thing, before you start ranting with: "but I faced 4 sins and died..." or "but if my team is... and my enemy is... than I die..." or whatever other excuse you want to pull off think about this:
not every game is winnable, especially in a random area like RA, so learn how to live with it. now this isnt saying not to try, as you should try your best everytime, even when the odds are against you, and especially as a monk, but you need to understand that you will win some and lose some. and that these wins and losses sometimes arent avoidable no matter what you did.

[word of healing][patient spirit] For [zealous benediction][reversal of fortune]
[peace and harmony][gift of health][patient spirit] ( Yes, you can use GoH and PS together if you are wise about it and practice the timing ) For [Zealous benediction][cure hex] and either RoF, Dismiss, or veil.

That is why I said "this is what I suggest, "I didn't say everyone is going to agree with me.

Are you suggesting bringing 55 and Spellbreakers into RA? I'm also pretty sure that bringing Spellbreaker and going 55 is not the way to go in RA.

My point about the sins is that Monks would be way overpowered to simply survive against 4 sins, that know what they are doing, without much difficulty.
